MY DIGITAL WARDROBE – TERMS & CONDITIONS

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the My Digital Wardrobe service (“Service”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By placing a storage order, creating an account, or using any part of the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
- ABOUT THE SERVICE
1.1 My Digital Wardrobe provides a clothing storage service whereby customers send garments and accessories to us for storage, steaming, cataloguing, and on-demand return delivery.
1.2 The Service includes:
Delivery of a storage box (“DW Box”) to the customer.
Storage of eligible clothing and personal items.
Photographing and cataloguing items into the customer’s digital wardrobe.
Secure storage for the duration of the subscription or storage period.
Return delivery of items upon request.
1.3 We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. Any substantial change will be communicated to customers in advance.
- ELIGIBILITY
2.1 You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
2.2 You must provide accurate, current account information including contact details and delivery address.
2.3 You must reside in an area where My Digital Wardrobe currently operates. We reserve the right to refuse service to addresses outside our active coverage zone.
- STORAGE BOXES & PACKING
3.1 Each customer is entitled to receive one free DW Box upon signing up. Additional or replacement boxes may incur a fee.
3.2 You are responsible for packing your items securely and ensuring they are clean, dry, and suitable for transport.
3.3 Overfilled or improperly packed boxes may be refused, returned, or subject to additional charges.
3.4 Items must comply with the Service’s acceptable item policy (see Section 4).
3.5 We are not responsible for damage caused by improper packing, excessive weight, or prohibited contents.
- ACCEPTABLE & PROHIBITED ITEMS
4.1 Acceptable items include:
Everyday clothing
Seasonal items
Coats & jackets
Dresses & occasionwear
Shoes
Bags
Hats, scarves, gloves, accessories
Light designer items
4.2 Prohibited items include:
Hazardous items (liquids, chemicals, aerosols, flammables)
Perishable goods or food
Wet, damp, mouldy, or soiled clothing
Underwear, lingerie, or swimwear
Jewellery, valuables, or electronics
Cash, documents, or irreplaceable items
Weapons or illegal substances
4.3 Any prohibited item found will be refused, returned at your cost, or disposed of if unsafe.
4.4 We may refuse any item deemed unsuitable for storage at our sole discretion.
- CATALOGUING AND DIGITAL WARDROBE
5.1 Once your box arrives, each item will be visually inspected, steamed, and photographed.
5.2 Photos uploaded to your account are for reference only and do not constitute proof of item condition.
5.3 We cannot guarantee colour accuracy due to lighting, camera differences, and screen variations.
- STORAGE CONDITIONS
6.1 Items are stored in a secure, controlled environment.
6.2 We take reasonable care of stored items but cannot guarantee absolute protection against all risks including natural disasters, pests, or events outside our control.
6.3 Storage is charged on a subscription or per-item basis depending on the plan selected.
6.4 If subscription payments fail repeatedly, we may suspend access to your digital wardrobe until the account is settled.
- RETURNING ITEMS (“REQUEST-BACK SERVICE”)
7.1 You may request any stored item to be delivered back to your address through your digital wardrobe.
7.2 Returns may incur a delivery fee depending on your plan.
7.3 Delivery times are estimates and may vary due to courier availability, location, or external factors.
7.4 We are not responsible for delays once items have been handed to a courier.
- CONDITION OF ITEMS
8.1 Items must be sent to us clean. We reserve the right to:
Refuse items that arrive damp, heavily soiled, or emitting strong odours.
Apply cleaning charges where necessary.
Return items at your cost.
8.2 Light steaming and freshening is included, but this is not a full laundry or dry-cleaning service.
8.3 We do not guarantee removal of stains, odours, or long-term creasing.
- LIABILITY & LIMITATIONS
9.1 We are not liable for:
Pre-existing damage, wear, or defects.
Minor cosmetic issues (e.g., lint, loose threads, wrinkles).
Shrinkage or changes from steaming.
Damage caused by poor packing or prohibited items.
9.2 Our total liability for any lost or damaged item is limited to the lower of:
The item’s fair market value (considering age, wear, depreciation), or
£50 per item unless a higher-value plan is available and purchased.
9.3 We are not responsible for sentimental or irreplaceable value.
- FEES & PAYMENTS
10.1 Fees include:
Storage subscription
Per-item storage add-ons
Delivery fees
Replacement box fees
Late payment or non-payment fees
10.2 Payments are taken automatically through your chosen billing method.
10.3 If your payment fails, you must update your payment method immediately.
10.4 Unpaid accounts may result in:
Suspension of service
Additional charges
Eventual disposal of unclaimed items (see Section 12)
- CANCELLATION & TERMINATION
11.1 You may cancel your storage plan at any time after all items have been returned to you.
11.2 Subscription fees already paid are non-refundable.
11.3 If you cancel your plan, you must request the return of all stored items within 30 days.
- UNCLAIMED ITEMS & NON-PAYMENT
12.1 If we cannot contact you for 90 days due to unpaid fees, inactive accounts, or abandoned items:
Your account may be closed.
Your items may be considered abandoned.
We may dispose of them responsibly.
12.2 We will make reasonable attempts to contact you before any disposal action.
- ACCOUNT SECURITY & DATA PRIVACY
13.1 You are responsible for keeping your account login details secure.
13.2 You agree not to share your account with others.
13.3 We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy (provided separately).
- USER BEHAVIOUR
14.1 You must not misuse the Service, including:
Providing false information
Sending prohibited items
Abusing staff or support channels
Attempting to exploit pricing or processes
- SERVICE AVAILABILITY
15.1 We aim for uninterrupted service but cannot guarantee availability at all times.
15.2 Maintenance, upgrades, or external issues may cause temporary interruptions.
- MODIFICATIONS TO TERMS
16.1 We may update these Terms at any time.
16.2 Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
- GOVERNING LAW
17.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.
17.2 Any disputes shall be handled under UK jurisdiction.
